So just what does "Talim" mean, anyway? In Tagalog, a major language spoken in the Philippines, Talim means "sharp or cutting edge"
or just "sharpness". The name seems to fit Talim perfectly, due to her choice of bladed tonfa as her weapons and her
swift fighting style.
Additionally, "Talim" was the name of a category 4 typhoon that hit Taiwan, Mainland China and the Philippines. This relates to Talim's association with wind, although the typhoon occured in 2005, so it's not likely that the storm has any real significance in relation to Talim.
There is also an island in the Phillipines named Talim.
