Talim is certainly one of the kinder and more innocent characters in the Soul Calibur series. She's modest, yet confident in her abilities. Most of her
dialogue includes phrases that are reassuring and encouraging. She even apologizes to enemies once she beats them.
But while she believes strongly in herself, she does ask for guidance and aid from the wind.
She has a positive outlook, but seems to realize the serious nature of what she is fighting against. Unlike Yunsung, her optimism is grounded in reality; she doesn't have any selfish motives and doesn't want to use the Soul Edge for her own purposes. Talim manages to be innocent, yet sincere. Her personality is unique in the sense that most young and optimistic characters in video games are portrayed as ditzy or naive, while Talim has a calm resolve and acknowledges the danger of the Soul Edge. Her extreme innocence may prove to be her downfall, however, when one looks at the pure evil intentions of many of the other characters.
Talim is definitely aligned with the "good" side. She would probably prefer to avoid violence, but she knows that she has to destroy the evil energy. She fights purely for the good of the world, with no thirst for power or revenge.
In Soul Calibur II, Talim is Necrid's so-called "destined battle," perhaps pitting her kind and
righteous personality against Necrid's overall lameness malicious intent.
